The Hyper-Text Mark-up (HTML) designed for the Internet for linking various documents has evolved into Extensible Mark-up Language (XML), allowing new tags to be defined. New standards have been developed for e-Business to do transactions between disparate computer systems. Security protocols are deployed by service providers to protect consumers from credit card frauds. XML is an industry standard, system-independent way of representing data. XML is like Hyper-Text Mark-up Language for Internet documents except that XML tags relate to the meaning of the enclosed text. The Web Services are a form of applications: self-describing, self-contained and modular, The Web Services can be published, located and subscribed on the Internet. The next-generation Web-sites can request these services rather than developing the required code for their web sites. The Web Services are targeted towards business-to-business e-commerce. SSL is a security protocol designed with Private and Public keys for secure information transactions on the Internet. Most transaction sites state the use of this protocol to ensure customers security. SET protocol is developed by Visa, Master Card and banking institutions for secure transactions on the Internet.
