QOS for ATM can be classified as: specified and unspecified.

QOS Class - Specified - All the parameters for this class are specified in the customer contract. The specifications are very rigid such as 2 cell loss objective for high and low priority traffic.

QOS Class - Unspecified - The network does not give any guarantees to the user. The user can give traffic parameters for the networks internal use to achieve some quality of service.
