_________________ __________ Ca*Net has evolved from Ca*Net2 to Ca*Net 4 linking the Canadian Internet to the NAPs in the U.S.. Ca*Net 2 - The Ca*Net node connections at 45 M bps. Ca*Net 3 - Used optical fibers in the links. The regional POPs were connected at OC-48. Universities and research establishments were connected to Regional Advanced Communications works. Ca*Net 4 - like its predecessor interconnects the provincial research networks, research centres. government research labs and schools both with each other and with international peer networks. The Ca*Net4 links are operating at OC-192 (10 G bps) and the network has total capacity of between 4 and 8 times of Ca*net3.
