                                                What is Internet ?

            Internet is a  global  information communications  network which connects
           millions of  computers so  that a user with an efficient computer, required
           software and  access to the Internet  network can  obtain the information 
           located on the network which could be thousands of miles away in another
           part of the world. The communications protocol is independent of the 
           computer hardware.

The Internet network is the first global network, which allows people worldwide to access different types of information without boundaries. Everyone in society has benefited either directly or indirectly from this technology. Enterprises have reaped the benefit by improving communications (employee and business partners) and gaining cost efficiencies by automating the business processes. Individuals have benefited by having easy access to the required information.
