            Case Study #5 - A New Feature Required on Company's Web-Site

Problem:    Executives of a company asked their web developer to include a postal code validation facility to check that the postal code is correct as customers submit a registration form. The company does business in 30 countries. The feature will validate postal codes from 30 countries. It needs to check if the city and the entered postal codes correspond to entries in the database.

The company requires to purchase the data about postal codes and maintain it. The developers need to write the code, test it and incorporate it into the existing web-site.

Solution:    The web developer concluded that it will be cost-effective to find a Web Services provider who has a web service that meets the company's needs and can be incorporated in the web-site.
