802.7 Proposed standard for broadband
802.8 FDDI and fiber optics standard
802.9 Integrated voice and data networks
802.11a Wireless LAN standard, using 5.2 G Hz band, capable of transmitting data at 54 M bps
802.11b Wireless LAN standard, using 2.4 G Hz band, capable of transmitting data at 11 M bps
802.11g Wireless LAN standard, using 2.4 G Hz band, extension of 802.11b capable of transmitting data at 20 M bps

The leading standards organization for LANs in the U.S. is the IEEE 802 Standards Committee. This committee has several working groups responsible for establishing wireline LAN and wireless LAN standards.
