Mobile terrestrial systems have had significant impact on the wireless communications industry. Third-Generation systems are deployed all over the world. 3-G standards in North American are different than the European standards. Fixed terrestrial systems are available to carry multi-media applications. Satellite systems also support multi-media applications.
