Many corporations and institutions are involved in developing 4 G standards. The proposed 60 G Hz frequency band represents a very large bandwidth that has been allocated to mobile communications. Many design issues for using this frequency band still have to be addressed. The Edge for uplink and OFDM for down link have been studied for mobile communications. 

4 G technologies are under development. Many vendors and operators have dedicated resources to develop 4G systems.
